Little Hero

Nikki Haines is Owner Operator of ZERO2HERO who has 20 years experience in
Early Childhood Education.  The passion of teaching all started for Nikki when she became involved in parent help at her sons kindergarten in Tauranga.

This soon grew into a teaching position while she trained to now being a fully qualified teacher holding a Bachelor of Education through the University of Auckland.

Nikki realises the importance of the first five years of a child’s life are critical for development. Her passion to provide an effective and supportive service to educators and families and to ensure the experiences children have in these early years help shape the adults they will become.

Nikki spent many years teaching in various child care centre settings then made a decision to  travel overseas to teach in Asia. This was a real eye opener being involved in a teacher led curriculum and quite the contrast to the child initiated teaching approach she was use to in New Zealand.

Now with all her knowledge and experience Nikki is able to shape and create a Home Based Education service to bring her vision alive for the families and tamariki here in Northland.

Nikki identified a need and decided she wants to provide families with the most rewarding and beneficial Home Based experience possible.

Nikki’s vision is to provide the stability for tamariki when families are committed elsewhere; to treasure the real life hands on experiences with people and their local communities; to support the relationships between family, educators and child; to incorporate a holistic approach to learning, developing the whole child in order to bring out the best in our tamariki.
